Are you the next MND NZ Research Advisor?

Motor Neurone Disease New Zealand is committed to supporting research towards improving care, treatments and, ultimately, a cure for people living with motor neurone disease (MND), as outlined in our 2025 – 2028 Research Strategy.

We have a unique opportunity for a part-time research advisor to join our team to help us continue delivering on this strategy. This includes funding of the MND Registry, a contribution to the MND Research Lab led by Dr Emma Scotter, an MND NZ research grant round, stakeholder engagement, encouraging clinical trials to New Zealand and providing expert MND research advice and communications.

“We are looking for someone who has experience in health or medical research, the ability to critically appraise scientific literature and research proposals, and experience in preparing research reports, summaries and funding recommendations for non-scientific audiences,” says MND NZ CE Mark Leggett.

“They will stand on the strong foundations of MND NZ’s research strategy, developed by their predecessors, Dr Claire Reilly QSM and Dr Natalie Gauld ONZM, and help shape its future growth.”

Position details include:

• Flexible hours (approximately 8-16 hours per week)
• Remote or hybrid working arrangements
• Occasional travel within New Zealand may be required
• The role may be undertaken as an employee or contractor
• Closing midday Friday 14 August.
