Cricket Match Edm Header

We’re bringing the community together for a special day of cricket — in support of people affected by motor neurone disease (MND).

On Sunday 14 March 2027, a T20 charity cricket match will take place at Mandeville Sports Ground, Christchurch raising vital funds and awareness for people living with MND across Aotearoa.

This will be a fun, family-friendly event featuring former players, local sporting identities, community leaders, and supporters — all coming together with a shared purpose.

The day will include:

  • A T20 match featuring a mix of familiar and local faces
  • Raffles and auctions supported by local businesses
  • Entertainment and activities for all ages
  • Moments to share real stories and build understanding of MND

At the heart of the day is a simple theme: Making Time Count.

For people living with MND, time matters in a very real way. The disease is progressive and life-limiting, with an average life expectancy of just two to three years from diagnosis. Needs can change quickly, and access to timely support is critical.

That’s where MND NZ plays an essential role — supporting people with MND and their whānau with care, advocacy, education, and practical assistance during a challenging time.

Events like this help make that support possible.

Get involved

We’re now inviting people to help shape and support this event.

We’re looking for:

  • People who can help on the day
  • Community members and businesses who want to get involved

Whether you have time, skills, or connections to offer, your support can make a real difference.
