MND Insight Survey 2025 webinar

The MND Insight Survey 2025 is the most comprehensive survey of the motor neurone disease (MND) community ever undertaken in New Zealand. Led by Dr Natalie Gauld, who was diagnosed with MND in 2022, this important research is supported by Motor Neurone Disease NZ and funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand.

To introduce the survey, we recently hosted a webinar to discuss its significance, how findings will be used for advocacy and funding, and the different ways people can participate. The webinar featured insights from Dr Gauld, MND NZ Chief Executive Mark Leggett, and Toni Foster from MND NZ’s advocacy and support team.

If you missed the live event, you can watch the full recording here:

What the Webinar covers:

The purpose and goals of the MND Insight Survey

  • How the survey will provide valuable data to improve services and advocacy
  • The different ways people with MND and their family/whānau carers can take part
  • How responses remain completely anonymous and confidential
  • A live Q&A session answering community questions

Why your participation matters

The survey aims to identify gaps in support, highlight challenges faced by those with MND and their families, and ultimately improve care and services in Aotearoa New Zealand. Every response helps build a stronger foundation for advocacy and funding applications.

If you or a loved one is living with MND, or if you have been a family/whānau carer, we encourage you to take part.

For more details on how to participate, visit MND Insight Survey Information page.

Thank you for being part of this vital research—together, we can make a difference.
