Talking books & greeting card service available free to MND community just in time for Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner MND New Zealand is pleased to offer free access to the Featherbed Tales online talking e-books and greeting card service.

The web-based platform allows people with MND and their family to quickly and easily record (and re-record!) audio to play alongside the pages of illustrated digital story books, nursery rhymes, Christmas cards, birthday cards, and more.

The recording can be done individually or together as a family, taking turns to read, make sound effects or add personal additions. It’s a fun way to capture your voice as it is now, for future generations to enjoy and remember, or for younger children or grandchildren to record their voices for you to listen to.

Stories become a legacy with a loved one’s voice as a forever memory – a wonderful gift or keepsake for people of all ages.

These e-books and cards take up no space and are easy to share around the world with multiple people. They make an ideal Christmas gift to send around the world, without worrying about the Christmas postal deadlines.

This is free to all people living with MND in New Zealand. To access the service, get in touch with your Support Advisor or contact Support Services Manager Jo Kelly ( or 021 230 3038) for your complimentary voucher.

Each voucher gives access to up to six items, for example 4 e-books and 2 e-cards. Additional vouchers can be purchased through MND NZ for $25 (including GST).
