Reminder to MND NZ donors to claim their tax credit
MND NZ, Supporters
19 March 2026
As we approach the end of the financial year, MND NZ is reminding all the generous New Zealanders who have supported our work since 1 April 2025 that you may be eligible to claim a tax credit on your donations.
Every contribution you’ve made this year has helped ensure people newly diagnosed with motor neurone disease receive urgent, personalised support during some of the toughest moments of their lives. MND doesn’t wait — and your kindness has helped make time count for people who don’t have time to lose.
Claim back one‑third of your donations
If you’ve donated $5 or more to MND NZ, you can claim back 33.33% of those donations through Inland Revenue. It’s simple to do online — you’ll just need your myIR login (or RealMe login) and copies of your receipts, either scanned or photographed.
What type of donation did you make?
- One-off donation:
You can upload the individual receipt you received at the time of your donation. - Regular monthly donation:
Your end‑of‑year consolidated receipt will be sent to you in April, making it easy to claim your total for the year at once.
As we close the financial year, a heartfelt thank you
Thanks to people like you, our Support Advisors are able to act quickly when someone receives a life‑changing diagnosis — offering guidance, advocacy, and reassurance when time is critical. Your generosity helps ensure no one in Aotearoa faces MND alone.
With our work almost entirely funded by public kindness, we simply couldn’t do what we do without you. Thank you for standing with the MND community.
And if you’re considering making an additional gift before 31 March, please know that your donation will both make an immediate difference for families and qualify for this year’s tax credit.
