Meet Grant, an adventurer with a heart for making a difference.

Known for his happy-go-lucky spirit (despite his wife’s description of him as a “serious grumpy old buggar”), Grant has tackled numerous challenges over the past decade.

Among his most memorable adventures is the Sound to Sound ride, a journey he embarked on with his friends James, Dave, and Robin who had recently been diagnosed with MND.

“His grit and determination were evident as he faced falls nearly every day but always got back up and kept going.”

Robin, determined to complete one last adventure with his friends despite battling MND, joined his mates on this gruelling trek. His grit and determination were evident as he faced falls nearly every day but always got back up and kept going.

Tragically, Robin passed away from MND 18 months later, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him.

This upcoming trek to Mt Kilimanjaro holds a special place in Grant’s heart. He is embarking on this journey in memory of Robin, hoping to honour his friend’s tenacity and spirit. With a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to raising funds for MND research and support, Grant hopes his story will inspire others to join him on this life-changing expedition.

Despite his joking claim to be afraid of adversity, Grant’s dedication shines through as he trains for the trek, overcoming the physical demands that come with age. He cherishes the camaraderie with his mates and believes that the collective effort can make a significant impact for the MND community.
