Bunnings staff working at a sausage sizzle to raise money

Every week in Aotearoa, two people are diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND). Two more die from this progressive, incurable disease that gradually takes away the ability to move, speak, eat — and eventually, breathe.

This June, as part of MND Action Month, Motor Neurone Disease NZ is proud to be working alongside Bunnings to help make time count for people living with MND and the whānau who support them.

Join the nationwide Bunnings sausage sizzle

On Saturday 06 June, between 9am and 3pm, Bunnings stores across the motu will fire up the barbecues for a nationwide sausage sizzle, raising vital funds and awareness for MND NZ.

Pop into your local Bunnings, grab a sausage or drink, and show your support. Every purchase helps fund personalised support, advocacy, and research for people living with MND. Find your nearest store at www.bunnings.co.nz/stores

More than a sausage sizzle

This year, several Bunnings locations are going a step further — hosting Ice Bucket Challenges and creative twists on the classic challenge as part of MND Action Month.

These bold, visible moments help start conversations about a disease that doesn’t wait — and remind us why action, awareness, and funding matter now.

Whether it’s tipping a bucket, pouring a brew, or buying a saussie, every action helps make time count.

Volunteer with us

We’re also calling on our community to volunteer at Bunnings sausage sizzles around the country. Volunteering is a simple way to make a meaningful difference — even a couple of hours helps:

· raise funds to support people living with MND

· spread awareness through everyday conversations

· bring the community together around a shared cause

Make time count this June

There’s no cure for MND — which is why time matters so much.

By showing up, lending a hand, or buying a sausage, you’re helping ensure people living with MND get the support they need, when they need it.

Together, let’s tip a bucket, pour a brew, and make time count 💙
