Volunteer

There are many ways you can volunteer for Motor Neurone Disease New Zealand.

Volunteer in your Community

Whether it's raising awareness, placing collection tins in local businesses, or representing Motor Neurone Disease New Zealand at local events, our community volunteers play a vital role in uniting the community, providing education, and raising awareness of motor neurone disease.

Walk to Defeat MND

Every summer Walk to Defeat MND events are held across NZ. The next event is on 07 November 2026. If you have brilliant organisational and interpersonal skills, why not volunteer as a Event Lead and start a Walk to Defeat MND event locally, or join as an Event Volunteer and support a Walk to Defeat MND event in your area.

Care with Coins Coordinator

Coin collection boxes are a great way to not only raise some funds, but also generate awareness of motor neurone disease in the community. Do you know of a local shop, café, or another business that would be willing to place a collection box on their counter? We can provide care with coins labels that can be added to a container and placed at point of sale. Volunteer to place, collect, and bank funds raised though care with coins.

Volunteer your skills

Would you or your colleagues like to offer your time instead of, or as well as, fundraising for us?

Gift your design, PR, or event skills to Motor Neurone Disease New Zealand. Providing a volunteer service can help us to reduce our running costs and allow us to concentrate our funding on reaching our goals.

If you want to talk to us about volunteering, please contact National Office via email or on 09 624 2148. Alternatively, fill out the form below to submit your expression of interest.
